Extracted from Bitter Apricot seed, Amygdalin is widely found in the kernel of loquat, apricot,
peach, green plum and arbutus. Amygdalin, is a glycoside initially isolated from the seeds
of the tree Prunus dulcis, also known as Bitter almonds, by Pierre-Jean Robiquet and
A. F. Boutron-Charlard. Several other related species in the genus of Prunus,
including apricot (Prunus armeniaca) and black cherry (Prunus serotina),
also contain amygdalin.
Function
Amygdalin (Natural vitamin 17) is a common cyanogen glycosides,
is also an effective component of traditional Chinese medicine bitter amygdalin,
is a derivative of alpha-hydroxyl nitrile, has become a commonly used medicine expectorant
cough suppressant, auxiliary anticancer drugs.
